Approach

The Lauras International approach stands out in its ability to deliver very rapid savings early on whilst implementing all the longer term tools and techniques necessary to achieve long term sustained improvement.
Programmes deliver significant net benefit even from year 1, and can be cash positive in 3-6 months. Over 3 years, cash paybacks of >10:1 are normal - and results are guaranteed.

The key to rapid performance improvement is a dual 'bottom-up' and 'top-down' approach towards implementing change:

  • Real results on the shop floor, quickly and on on a wide front, achieved by shop-floor personnel themselves, not management.
  • Management processes, systems, and coaching behaviours to ensure the rate of improvement is sustained

The secret is to change the way people think. The Lauras training is specifically designed to explain "why", not just "what" - and with the understanding that this brings, people think differently, and so do things differently. Also, we all learn better by doing than just being told, and so the training is backed up by hands on practical application, that delivers improvements for the business at the same time.

The journey starts with an opportunity assessment that defines the individual site's current maturity towards improvement, and outlines the areas of greatest opportunity to define the right path for improvement. Once organisational capability is ensured through any necessary management training, or implementation of processes, then early results can be achieved.

Lauras also trains improvement champions for each site who can repeat the training, and use Sustainability Models for each pillar to ensure all elements that affect the rate of improvement are constantly improved.
