Lean, Productivity and CI Summit

lean-mpu-logoWe’re pleased to announce that Jeremy Praud has been invited to speak at the inaugural Food and Drink Lean, Productivity and Continuous Improvement Summit on November 15th (National Motorcycle museum, Birmingham).

The purpose of the Summit is to connect 500+ key stakeholders responsible for creating a more productive and efficient food and drink industry. With a conference programme focused on ‘trends, technology, and innovations’ – the speaker line up is drawn from senior management from leading food and beverage companies that are leading the way in creating a more lean, productive, sustainable and efficient food manufacturing industry.

Jeremy has recently featured in the press on the subject of productivity in manufacturing and the importance of a productive (not just skilled/knowledgeable) workforce:

“During times of economic ‘unexpectedness’, such as this period after the Brexit vote, it’s vital that manufacturers focus on ‘controlling the things that can be controlled’. As such, ‘productivity’ is really important right now, particularly when measured as a non-currency related metric – and assessing the opportunity to improve productivity then implementing a plan to do so will help businesses build and maintain market resilience. A skilled and knowledgeable workforce is essential for effective operations – but ensuring they are engaged and driving future productivity is the key to protecting profit margins and gaining growth – at Lauras International we have a long track record of working with manufacturers to rapidly and sustainably improve productivity.”

As such, Jeremy has been asked to speak at the Summit on the subject of motivating manufacturing teams and engaging people.

Presentation Synopsis:

A typical UK business can count on only 16% of its employees being classified as engaged (applies discretionary effort, actively drives improvements). But that balance can change with some simple changes to your management style Jeremy of Lauras will explain in this session. The talk will look at the essence of good leadership, effective communication and motivating/empowering teams – and demonstrate the importance of sharing the ‘why’ of problem solving not just the ‘what’ and how’. Plus, examples of the proven bottom line benefits of engagement on the shopfloor.
